On March 2nd 1877 he joined the East India Railway as an apprentice in the loco department where he worked until around July 1911.  His nationality was stated to be East Indian.

 

During his time working for the EIR he worked between the Allahabad, Asansol and Jamalpur stations.

 

David married Eveline Mathilda Irvine on 9th Feb 1885 the daughter of a George Thomas Irvine.

says she died at age 36.

This would therefore make her 15 when she married in 1885.

 

Age on marriage certificate is 18 yrs, age on death certificate is 36

yrs.  Her birth date could therefore be 1867 or 1870

David was a batchelor, Eveline was a spinster.

 

Marriage certificate gave her age as 18 but here death certificate says she died at the age of 36, therefore this would make her 15 when she was married.
